Hi there! My name is Calvin and I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I was abandoned with my brother Clyde in rural Oklahoma. One day we wandered onto a farm, but the resident animals weren’t too happy about having us around so we were sent to a shelter. That’s when Dolly’s Legacy found us and committed to our rescue! After a long drive, we made it to our Dolly’s foster homes in Nebraska. I was really scared and shy at first, but with the guidance of the resident dogs I am beginning to feel more comfortable in the home and my personality is showing more every day. I learned how to use the dog door to let myself out and haven’t had any accidents. I will tell you that the first time I do anything new, it is really scary for me. But as I gain confidence in my environment, I am learning how to trust people, walk on a leash, and sleep in a kennel. I love playing with toys, taking naps, and racing around the yard with the resident dogs. I definitely have bursts of puppy energy, but I am pretty calm for my age. When you meet me, don’t be disappointed if I am scared and try to hide; I just need some time. I would love to find a home with another dog who can continue teaching me how to play and be brave, and a human who is patient and can find the balance between giving me space and challenging me to overcome my fear. Experience with or willingness to research grooming requirements for long hair is a must. I can’t wait to find my forever home! Calvin is an Old English Sheepdog/Labradoodle mix, weighs 33 lbs (but growing!) and was born approximately 2-01-20. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed & started on heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $650 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
