Hello I'm Darla! I came from a crowded shelter and was on the euthanasia list, literally was saved the day before I ran out of time. I am a little shy at first and it might take me some time to warm up. Give me a week or so, once I know I am in a safe and loving home, I will greet you with the biggest smile and wiggle butt to show you my appreciation. My favorite spot in the house are the couch. I love taking naps on the couch with my doggie foster sister while my foster mom is working in her office upstairs. I have earned the trust of being left alone without kenneling, as I am potty trained and I don’t chew on anything. I am very gentle and have good manners, if you sit next to me on the couch, I will slowly crawl up to you lap for some snuggles. I get along well with everyone as I am very friendly, calm and submissive. I am still a bit new with leash training, but I am learning fast from my doggie foster siblings. I might freeze up and try to hide during walks if I hear loud noise or see cars driving by, so a harness might work better for me. Because of this, I would prefer a home with a fenced yard so I can run & play freely. I am content and confident when being around a doggie friend so my perfect home would have another dog in it to show me the ropes. Since I get scared with loud noise and quick movements, I will do better in a home with older children who would allow me to warm up at my own pace. I can't wait to meet my furever family and give them all my love! Darla is a Black Mouth Cur, weighs 45lbs and was born approximately 01-23-20. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventive. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
