PENDING ADOPTION!

Jagger is a very special boy who is perfectly imperfect. He has a genetic disorder called oculoskeletal dysplasia. It causes early blindness (usually around age 4-5).  Dolly's Legacy rescued him from a rural Missouri shelter. He hadn't been at the shelter long before it was obvious he couldn’t see well.  He was taken to a specialist in Kansas City who determined he could see at approximately 80-90% but has blind spots.  His front legs are shorter than his back legs which goes along with this disorder. He will need to be monitored regularly for his eyes but, at this time, nothing needs to be done. We are looking for a forever home where he will be given the chance to check off all the things on his bucket list before he loses his sight, and the many years after.  Jagger LOVES to play fetch and romp out in the warm sunshine. He's great with other dogs & enjoys their company. He will require a dog-experienced home with verifiable veterinary history, he will not be allowed to go to a first-time dog owner home. He also will require a secure fenced yard so he can remain safe as his vision lessens, as well as a companion dog to lead the way for him. A home on one level or where he won't need to do lots of stairs is also very important. No apartment living now or in the future. Jagger is a treasure and deserves his happily ever after with a doting person or family.

Jagger is a male purebred Yellow Labrador Retriever who was born approximately 2-20-20 and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed, tested HW negative & started on heartworm preventive. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
