Girls Just Want to Have Fun: Meet Gemma & JoJo
Gemma and JoJo are a bonded pair of playful, spirited girls who live by a simple schedule: play, nap, play, nap… repeat.
They adore each other and entertain themselves beautifully with toys and zoom sessions. They are friendly and playful with the small dogs in their foster home, and their confidence really shines around canine friends.
Humans? That’s still a work in progress.
These girls are cautious and will need a patient, understanding home willing to let trust develop slowly. They take treats gently from your hand and absolutely melt under a soft neck rub — but building that comfort takes time. They are sweet souls, just still learning that people are safe.
Because they love to run and are still hesitant with people, a secure fenced yard is absolutely necessary. They do not enjoy being on leash, and dog parks are not recommended at this time. If they were to get loose, they would be difficult to catch.
They enjoy spending time outdoors, need mental stimulation, and are active, playful companions. They do like to bark (they have opinions!), so continued training will be important. They are making progress with house training, are comfortable in their kennels, and have shown no growling, biting, or food guarding behaviors.
With patience and consistency, Gemma and JoJo have the potential to become deeply bonded companions to someone who understands shy dogs.
🏡 The Ideal Furever Home
Gemma and JoJo would thrive in:
A calm, patient household
A securely fenced yard (non-negotiable)
An experienced or understanding adopter willing to move at their pace
A home without small children
A structured environment with routine
They would likely do best with another confident, friendly dog to continue modeling social behavior.
Their perfect furever home?
One that sees potential and is willing to earn their trust.
