Hi! My name is Raquel, my foster mom calls me Roxie and I kind of like that. I am a little petite girl and I really love when I get love and attention. My last owner tossed me over a fence at a pound and left me. I don’t know why that happened but I do know that I’m so lucky cuz Dolly’s heard about me and saved me and now I’m here with a wonderful foster family. I love to run and play but it is tough right now because I'm not allowed to do that until I finish my heartworm treatment. I can't wait to be able to run and play again! I don't love my kennel but I'm totally trustworthy if left free reign in the house. I really want to be active so a dog buddy would be good or maybe a human running partner. I've lived with cats before too and I'm cool with them. A fenced yard would be nice but as long as I get enough activity and outside time, I am okay without that. I can be nervous meeting new people (especially men) but I do warm up once I know they are going to be nice to me. Once I finish my heartworm treatment in June, I hope I find a really nice place to live with a really nice family who likes to play (like me!), and maybe another furry brother or sister! I just want to have the best life ever and to be loved. Raquel is a petite Retriever/Collie mix, weighs 31 lbs and was born approximately 3-18-18. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Raquel is undergoing life-saving treatment for heartworm disease and will be ready for adoption in June. She will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure she is heartworm free. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
