Adopt 3

{Buzz_Rescue_Name} began with a simple concept; help those who cannot help themselves.

For thousands of neglected, abandoned, and abused animals, this concept evolved - it became their second chance in life.

{Buzz_Rescue_Name} is now one of Southern California's largest no-kill animal sanctuaries.

Our Mission

To rescue and heal neglected, abandoned and abused dogs and cats.
By providing the space to facilitate the adoption of dogs and cats, the chance to live a full and happy live with loving pet owners is made possible. We are a No-Kill animal sanctuary. The largest in Southern California.

Our Vision

To focus in reducing the homeless population of dogs and cats
through community awareness programs and partnerships across the country. We are advocates of the No-Kill movement and believe in changing society to value and protect the lives of animals.

One of Southern California's largest no-kill animal sanctuaries.

Its humble beginnings are far removed from its present status:

The History of {Buzz_Rescue_Name}

Its humble beginnings are far removed from its present status:

Established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in North Palm Springs. The animal sanctuary was also known as the Orphan Pet Oasis. It began with 16 Kennels on 2 acres and housed 20 dogs

Compassionate donors added a small trailer to begin rescuing cats.

An additional 6 acres was generously donated

Malinda Bustos was elected President of the Board of Directors in 2004. While Bustos continued the rescue mission, she saw the importance of quality of life for each animal and the need for facility modernization. Strong winds and high temperatures had taken its toll. Renovations began in Fall 2004.

Mrs. Anne Barry donated the Barry Cat Rescue Center. This 1,400 square foot building offers accommodations to more than 50 cats

The Board of Directors contracts with Valerie Masi at Best Paw Forward as Director of Animal Services. Staying true to the mission of making the animals' welfare a priority, the Humane Society is relaunching to maximize it's potential in serving the needs of orphaned and abandoned pets in the Coachella Valley.

As the needs of abused, neglected and abandoned animals has grown, so, too has {Buzz_Rescue_Name}.

To date, notable accomplishments include:

  • Complete facility renovation
  • New kennels with misting systems
  • Landscaping and walking paths
  • A Puppy Park
  • Four large dog play areas
  • Vet Mobile

{Buzz_Rescue_Name} has grown from a small rescue facility with a dream, to become Southern California's largest no-kill animal sanctuary.

The sanctuary can accommodate:

140 Dogs and 50 Cats.

Our Board of Directors

is comprised of five professionals, each committed to serve, share and support the work of the organization and to ensure the integrity of its operation.
