BELLA ANN

Hi everyone! My name’s Bella Ann, but my foster family calls me sweetpea for my gentle heart. I’m a very smart pup, who’s in the process of learning basic commands. I’m not fully potty-trained yet, but am learning fast with little accidents. I use a pee pad without my foster family telling me too, and they’re so proud of me! I walk amazing on a leash, staying right beside my walker without pulling. Yes, there’s the occasional squirrel, but can you blame me? It’s so fun to chase after them! I love toys, especially kongs, rubber bones and squeaky balls. With balls, if you throw them, I may bring it right back. Fetch might be my canine sport! I have a kennel which I consider my safe place for naps and downtime that I walk into on my own accord. The human’s bed is also pretty comfy. As for my overall behavior, I’m a very affectionate pooch. It’s just that I’m quite timid during first appearances. It’s hard to adjust right away to new surroundings, so that’s why you should give me time and space. My foster family understood that, and look at me now! Wagging my tail and following them in and out the door. I’m never an aggressive dog, just a bit anxious when things go too fast. I love peanut butter and gentle caresses, so that will help in the bonding process. But believe me, once I know you’re my safe place, you’ll find yourself being attacked by slobbering puppy kisses every day. I’m a cuddler too, who loves belly rubs and scratches on my chest. I’m no naughty pup. When warned about things like picking up table scraps, I immediately drop it. I’m also not destructive with my toys or the furniture, and have what some consider a “soft mouth.” I’m not too hyper either. Sometimes I get my case of the zoomies, but the only thing I do is run around my walker on leash until I tire out. I love all people, including children, and allow myself to be petted by strangers if approached calmly. I show no reaction to other dogs walking by, and even give kisses when our noses touch. I’m quite the lover. I hope you can give me a chance! Bella Ann is a Shepherd mix, weighs 40 lbs (but growing!) and was born approximately 1-1-20. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed & started on heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs.
