BLACKIE

Hi! My name is Blackie. I came from SE Missouri with my brother Brownie. We were living stray, and someone found us near a gravel road. We were skinny, but OK. Still happy to meet people. We hopped in, and they took good care of us. Those people gave me two names - Blackie and Bear. My current fosters liked Bear the most, so that's what we go with. Brownie and I actually got to ride in an airplane to get to Lincoln! It was crazy!
I was born Jan 24, 2021. I'm neutered and microchipped. I'm a little more mellow than Brownie. You don't have to take both of us, but it'd be cool if you could. We LOVE to play together! My foster humans have a couple outdoor cats. I've been out near them, but I really don't care. The fosters have a whole bunch of dogs (there are ten total in the house!), and I am friendly toward them all. I am crate trained, and 100% potty-dependable. I've been in social gatherings with kids as young as 9 and I'm totally good with that. I just want humans to love me, and I feel terrible if I disappoint you.
Look, I know pits are sometimes scary. I beg you, just come meet me. We do meet & greets every weekend. Fill out an app to get a time slot with me, and let's rub noses. No pressure. Just meet me and go home to think about it. My fosters will come along and will answer any question you might have. I love them, but they can't do forever. I can. Give me a chance.

Blackie is a male Black Labrador Retriever/maybe mixed with Terrier/Pit, who was born approximately 1-24-21 and weighs 67 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $250 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. If adopted with his brother, the fee for both is $350. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
