BOOMER

Hi! My Name Is BOOMER

We're happy to tell you that BOOMER has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Boomer is a very sweet little boy. He was surrendered to a shelter in Texas and due to overcrowding, was at risk for euthanasia. He was badly matted and needed his coat shaved pretty short to get all those mats out. After removing the hair from his face, it was discovered he has a badly neglected eye. Conservative treatment was tried for a couple of weeks with eye drops, but it has not improved and will be removed to lessen his pain & issues in the future.
Boomer is nervous at first upon new people & new surroundings. He will scamper away from you, and then roll onto his back when you get close. But he will let you pick him up, and he will come and lay on the floor next to you. He'll put his paws on you and ask to be picked up and put on your lap. Boomer very much wants to be loved and wants to be a part of your pack. But it's obvious that he has some bad experiences with humans and has to learn to trust you.
Boomer is fully house trained and the only accident he has had is when his foster mom overslept. He is fine with roaming free in the house, he does not like stairs and still has to be carried up and down the stairs even though it does frighten him to do so, but he's working really hard on taking stairs off the deck and in the front yard on a leash.  Boomer has no issues with the cats in the house, there are three permanent resident cats and two foster cats, and he mostly just ignores them. There's very little interaction between the cats and Boomer. He has no problems with any of the dogs in the house, though they are all his size. Bigger dogs who are energetic would likely frighten him.
Requirements to adopt Boomer:
