BUDDY

Hi! My Name Is BUDDY

We're happy to tell you that BUDDY has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Let’s talk about Buddy. He is literally THE sweetest pup in the world. He loves pets and loves the outdoors! He will ravage any toy you give him but he is so happy to have something to do. Buddy likes to sleep on the bed and lounge on the couch. He is a terrible workout buddy because he will lay on you only wanting cuddles. Any family who adopts Buddy will be very lucky. He is also very good with other dogs and needs a home where there is another dog who matches his energy level and loves to romp. He has caramel-colored eyes that will melt your heart. Buddy is house-trained and knows “sit” but is still working on leash training, so a home with a fenced yard would be best for him. He is a quick learner & is motivated with treats. He thinks his foster family’s cats and bird are a toy instead of a friend, so a home without cats or small feathered or furry critters would be best. One of his favorite things is to pull toys out of the toy box and toss them around. It’s even better when someone will play fetch and tug of war! He may be too much energy for small children, so we are asking for no kids under 10. Buddy's favorite place to be is outdoors running around the yard and exploring. He tends to be protective of the house and yard and will bark at unknown people at the door or passing the yard. His favorite place to be in the evening is laying on the couch next to his people cuddling. Overall, Buddy is an amazing dog and will make a family very happy for many years! Buddy came from a crowded city shelter in Texas where he was originally brought in with a broken leg that needed repaired. He has fully recovered from that injury and has no trouble running & playing.  Now he is ready for a new chapter with a forever home.  Buddy is a male Hound/Retriever mix, weighs 50 lbs and was born approximately 12-11-19. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
