COSMO

Hi! My Name Is COSMO

We're happy to tell you that COSMO has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Cosmo is a happy-go-lucky little guy! He is 10 years old and loves to play with his toys. He gets along well with his little foster dog friends. He hasn’t been around cats yet and is easy going around kids that are gentle with him. He doesn’t need to be crated and does well just hanging out in a chair when his foster is not home. He is house trained but has to go potty a little more often because of the heart medicines he takes. He occasionally lets out a cute little bark and loves to follow his foster family all around the house. He even likes to supervise while humans are doing yard work. He enjoys car rides, short walks, playing with toys and exploring the backyard. This sweetie will make a good companion for a slight to moderately active family with older children or all adults.

Cosmo came into rescue after his owner passed away. He currently take two medications for congestive heart failure and is doing very well. He will need to continue on those medications and have regular follow-ups with a veterinarian every six months and may benefit from a cardiologist visit in the future. Cosmo will also need regular grooming to keep his coat in good condition or it will become tangled.  Adopter must have excellent pet ownership histor with verfiable veterinary reference. Cannot go to a first-time dog owner or a family with children under the age of 6 due to his tiny size and only having lived with a senior.

Cosmo is a male Maltipoo who was born approximately 6-1-13 and weighs 20 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on heartworm prevention. As stated above, he has CHF and will need to remain on medication for that and continue regular 6 month followups with a vet. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
