My name is Dopper and I cannot wait to meet you! I have not met a human that I didn’t like or want to kiss over and over. I love playing with my sister Bopper, but I always make sure to take breaks to check back in with the humans and get some pets. I like humans so much that I even let them trim my toe nails! I’m going to be the bestest most loyal dog ever! No dog will be more excited than me to see you come home! I am a very food motivated puppy and I’m pretty smart so I have learned to “sit” and “down” for treats very quickly. I can also walk on a leash, and I love checking out all the nature along my walking route. I’m kennel trained and can make it through the night without a potty break. During the day, I sometimes have wetting accidents in the house, but I have not had a solid accident. I get along well with the grown dogs in my foster home. They set boundaries and I respect them even though I really want to jump on them. I’m super curious about the cat, but she has rebuffed my every advance. I sometimes bark at her, but otherwise have respected her boundaries. I do bark at other things occasionally, but my foster parents think I might be just following the lead of other dogs in the house and there is a chance I may not be a big barker later in life. I’m looking for a family that can help me burn off my puppy energy; I’m pretty wiggly and bouncy at the moment. I’m not much of a cuddler yet because I’m too busy, but I’ll take all the pets you can give. Because I love to be close to people, I am often underfoot so my forever family will need to be careful not to trip over me. I cannot wait to bring my puppy joy and dog love to your life.
Dopper is a growing male Retriever/mix who was was born approximately 8-28-23 and weighed 21 lbs on 12-19-23. He is part of the "Opper Family". His mom is Copper who weighs 30 lbs, his sister is Bopper. Dopper is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $575 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
