GABE

Gabe is a handsome little fella who was rescued from a life of breeding along with his sister, Marley. Gabe seems to have an outgoing personality, a social guy-- but some fear is holding him back. With love and patience he will come around. Prior to being rescued, he had experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. He was badly matted and needed to be shaved after rescue from that life. Gabe enjoys being outside and loves to run freely. He will need a fenced in yard to keep him safe while exploring. Gabe is attending a socialization class for dogs and learning that he can actually play and have fun. He is interested in the cats in his foster home and attempts to play with them. Because of his life prior to being rescued, he would do best in a quiet, adult-only home without a lot of coming/going. We are working on leash and pottytraining. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, we believe he will come around rather quickly and being a part of his rehabilitation will be an extremely rewarding experience for his new family! Gabe is a male Maltese, weighs 7.3 lbs and was born approximately 7-14-11. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm prevention. Gabe also had a dental procedure with a few extractions so would do best with a primarily soft diet. Adoption fee is $300 individually, or $500 with his sister, Marley, to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
