Hey my name is Gypsy. I am a sweet girl looking for a special home to call my own. I was a breeder release dog which means I was used for nothing but breeding until they didn't want me anymore and dumped me. I was not socialized or treated nicely during the first few years of my life which made me very scared and shy at first. My perfect family will understand that I won't be able to run right into their arms at our first meeting or even the second. Meeting new people is scary for me because I don't know yet that people will be nice. I do warm up, after a little over a week in my foster home I was coming up asking to for love and pet. I now snuggle up next to my foster parents while they work or watch TV. Having another dog or dogs in the home really helps me. If I see them getting love and attention then it shows me that I am safe to get love too. I watch everything my foster pup siblings do and they have been teaching me how nice and loving my foster parents are. I absolutely love spending time roaming in the yard and enjoying my freedom, so my perfect home would have a fenced in back yard for me to spend as long as I like enjoying the sunshine. I can jump very high, so I need a fence that is 5 foot or higher. Loud noises and sudden movements still startle me. I need a home that is calm and quiet. I get anxious with too much going on around and need a family that can help calm my nerves and make me feel safe. If there are children they need to be over 10 years old and understand my needs. I am learning that toys are super fun! I like playing with stuffed animals and chewing on nylon bones. Since I have never had toys before, I am still learning what are toys and what isn't suppose to be played with or chewed on but I'm learning quickly! I have an adorable beagle howl that I occasionally use and it never fails to make my foster parents laugh. I currently sleep in my kennel at night but I would love to be able to sleep in the room with my humans on my favorite little doggy bed. I very rarely have any accidents in the house. I will make a great addition to my special forever family and getting to see me come out of my shell and be the dog I was always meant to be will make you just as happy as it will make me. I hope we are each others perfect match! Gypsy is a female Beagle, weighs 22 lbs and was born 5-21-18. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm preventative.
