Hershey is a sweet boy who loves human attention. He is an active dog who would do best with an active owner to keep him busy with walks, hiking, etc. He will whine when he doesn't have enough to do (Mom! I'm boooored!!). He is fully potty trained and will go in the kennel when asked but has also been trustworthy when left out. Hershey is not a fan of felines, so we would recommend a home without cats as he is too tempted to chase them. He would do best as an only dog as he can be bossy with other dogs & wants to be in charge. Hershey is likely a great candidate for some organized dog training classes to keep that active mind challenged. Classes are a great opportunity for a dog and owner to learn together and practice at home. Hershey needs a fenced yard as he does enjoy the outdoors and having the opportunity to sniff and run freely around the yard (no apartment living for this boy). Hershey is a Chocolate Lab/Pitbull Terrier mix, weighs 62 lbs and was born approximately 12-14-15. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Hershey had life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure he is heartworm free. Adoption fee is $50 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
