Homer is currently on medical hold & will be available for adoption 11-9-19. Hi, my name is Homer. Dolly’s named me after the Saltdog’s mascot I guess, or so I’m told. I am a super chill guy. I tend to sit back and observe to sort of get the feel of the room. When I decide it would be great to get some attention, I’ll ask for that cuz I didn’t get much love where I came from. My beginning wasn’t very good. I was found on the side of a road. The people that stopped didn’t know I was even still alive, I heard them say they thought I was dead. It was such a hot day and I was hungry, thirsty, and totally exhausted. To be honest, I just sorta wanted to give up but I did end up getting picked up by animal control in Southeast Missouri and given somewhere safe to chill in but, man, I was super scared. Well, Dolly’s Legacy saw a picture of me with the animal control guy and offered to bring me to Nebraska, which I like a lot, so they could help me get healthy and find a furever home. I really want a person or family of my own and to be loved a lot cuz I get along with pretty much anyone, dogs and cats. Since I’ve been in my foster home with my foster’s dogs and cats, I think I’m understanding what it’s like to be loved and get affection. I really like it a lot and I’ll go up to my foster mom for pets and love when I sort of need some. I have this really cool shaved patch on my back, I think it's sort of a new trend because my other foster sisters have one too. We talked about it and we think it’s the mark for the cool dogs cuz the other dogs whose mom is watching us don’t have them and they don’t seem quite as cool so that must be the deal. I don’t really get crazy or hyped up, I sort of just like to lay on the couch and sometimes sleep with my foster brothers and sisters cuz we all get along really well. There are 2 smaller dog looking things that are called cats, but I really pay no attention to them cuz, why? They’re so much smaller than me and seem to just sleep all the time anyhow. BORING! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to sleep, but that’s like all they do. I’m not very old and I really, really want to find a home and family that will love me and keep me safe and warm in their home so I can live out the rest of my life with people that really do love me. I’ve always wished for that. Once you meet me, you won’t even believe how cool I am, especially with my shaved patch. Please come meet me, I’m almost done with my doctor stuff and ready to start my new life! Homer is a male Beagle/Lab mix, weighs 43 lbs and was born approximately 8-8-16. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, and dewormed. He received lifesaving treatment for heartworms and must stay on a monthly heartworm preventive for the rest of his life, as all dogs should. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
