You guys aren’t even going to believe how amazing I am. I’m not even sure where to start about myself… OK, first, am I a looker, or what? That’s what my foster mom tells me and I can say when I look in the mirror, well, she’s not wrong! I have some pretty great things I do. First off, I can hop just like a bunny when I get excited. My foster mom tells me a lot how “happy go lucky” I am. I did try to go after and chase some of the foster cats in her house but after a few reprimands and having to go spend time-out in the kennel, I realized that, hey, it’s WAY more fun chilling with the rest of the pack in the house and leaving the cats alone than it is to sit by myself “thinking about what I had done” in the kennel. After about 2 days, I controlled my urge to chase them and now I never have to go in the kennel if I don’t want to. I’m totally housetrained and, to my foster mom’s surprise, I didn’t mark at all in her house. Oh, believe me, I went to town outside and pretty much every bush and tree and rock are now MINE, I made it so! I don’t particularly like being in the kennel if I don’t have to be, but with a treat, I will go in there. I REALLY like sleeping on the bed instead of the kennel too, it’s so comfy! My foster mom wants me to also mention that I can nearly fold my body in half (sideways) and that sometimes when she calls me in from outside with the rest of the pack, my hind quarters almost get in the door before my front end. She says it’s really cute. Boy, oh, boy, I really really want a new home to live in. I love my foster home but I sure hope I can find a family to love me forever. I get along with other dogs really good and with patience and training, I can handle a cat as long as my new family just let’s me get used to the cat and let’s me know when I go too far. I am a bit anxious at times so I will need some work on my jumping up but it’s only been a bit so I’m learning. I’m just the sweetest and most lovey boy. Could I be the perfect fit in your family? Jailbird came from rural southern Oklahoma where he was found as a stray and never reclaimed. The only way he would make it out of the shelter alive was to be rescued as they do not have any volunteer or adoption programs in their rural animal control facility. Dolly's Legacy came to his rescue and saved his life. Now he's ready for a new chapter with a forever home. Jailbird is a male Boxer mix, weighs 50 lbs and was born approximately 5-1-18. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, please complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
