Luahna is a loyal pup ready to find her forever home. This somewhat bashful girl thrives on human connection and loves to be close, often curling up on her foster mom’s lap or snuggling under the covers at night. Though initially shy, Luahna has been making great strides in learning to trust her surroundings, enjoying walks (she’s great on a leash!), backyard playtime, and even starting to play with toys. She’s currently living with other dogs and cats, learning to coexist with them but still showing her protective side when it comes to her favorite person. We believe she would prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can soak up all the attention from her person or people. Luahna is housetrained and prefers free roam of the home rather than being crated or confined. Young kids tend to make her very nervous so she would do best in an adult-only home.
Luahna was surrendered as a young mom to a crowded shelter with her puppies. They were all adopted but she was left behind. Just 2 days before Christmas, she was rescued by Dolly's Legacy so she wouldn't have to spend Christmas in a scary shelter. Luahna is a gentle & quiet girl who would love to be a lap dog. . She has short, stubby legs and only weighs 32 lbs. She is just the most adorable, petite girl you will ever meet! Let's start off her new year by finding her a home of her very own.
Luahna is a Dachshund/Terrier mix (our best guess of breeds, she could have many other additional breeds in her heritage). She was born approximately 12-15-23 and weighs just 32 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
