MADDIE

Maddie is very gentle and friendly. She is a bit nervous of uncertain sounds or places. She has not been tested with kids or cats but doesn't seem to have a prey drive when seeing birds or small animals. Gets along very well with other dogs but is kind of a loner. She doesn't need a playmate or hasn't really learned how to play with other dogs. Once all of her winter shed was groomed out, she doesn't shed at all. She loves to be loved up with scratches and hugs but has not yet learned how great a belly rub is! Of course she likes treats and chew toys but doesn't seem interested in chewing on shoes or furniture. She appears to have not learned basic commands but is house trained. She is good on a leash, doesn't pull, but she could work on not getting twisted around legs and objects. She feels safe and likes her kennel and has had no accidents even when in a kennel all day. Likes baths, rarely barks and seems content to stay in the yard....does not try to escape. 4 foot fence is fine, but a fenced yard is required for her (unless you live on a farm or acreage, if you live in town a fence is required). Maddie is a very sweet and gentle girl with just the right amount of energy for walks to the park and hanging out on a lazy day. She is nervous of new places and takes a little time to learn that she is welcome to be wherever her family is. A quiet home would be best with an experienced family who understand the quirkiness of a border collie who can help her feel safe and secure in her surroundings. Maddie is a Border Collie, weighs 44 lbs and was born approximately 6-24-18. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventive. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
