Maggie's story is a tragic one, that does not reflect the unconditional love she has for everyone she meets. Sadly, the reason this sweet girl has ended up with Dolly's is because she could not please her human, and it is absolutely no fault of her own. After carrying a litter of pups, her human decided that her babies didn't look the way he wanted them to, and so for that reason only, Maggie suffered a very traumatic event. She was shot in the face, destroying one of her eyes that ultimately had to be removed, and she is now deaf on that side as well (but hears & sees out of the other side). She was betrayed by the person that she thought she could put all of her trust in, and even though he had hurt her, she lay next to him after the event and gave him kisses. She is loyal, even on the worst day of her life. Fortunately, her story is changing for the better, because she is now living in a loving and playful foster home where she can take time to recover. She has been the most loving and gentle pup since she arrived. She immediately fell in love with her foster family (including a toddler!) And she just LOVES her two dog brothers! Maggie is very loyal and just wants to make everyone she meets feel loved. She will cuddle you in bed, or she will nibble at your toes while you wash the dishes, just so you know she is still there and ready for some love when you're done! She is house trained and does good on a leash! She isn't overly active, but it is clear that she loves having her brothers to play with. If her new family includes dogs, Maggie gets along best with medium to large size dogs. We ask that she have a fenced in yard so she can run & play to her heart's delight. She would thrive in a home with someone who is around often, and who will interact with her when they are not at work, as she has so much love to give and loves being on the receiving end even more! Maggie is a female terrier mix, weighs 47 lbs and was born approximately 9/9/2018. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
