MAX

Hi! My Name Is MAX

We're happy to tell you that MAX has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Hi, this is Max! My previous owner fed me grapes (really not good for me) and a pork chop. I ended up at the vet and was surrendered. Since then, my journey has been quite rough, went through a surgery with my tummy cut wide open and lost the place I used to call home. I am very loyal and bonded to my hooman, so I am terrified when abandoned. All I really need is a FUREVER home, one that will keep me forever. Could that be you?! I am mostly house trained, and I will sleep through the night till 8 am if allowed in bed with my hooman. I am not a big chewer nor destroyer, so you can trust me with your furniture and shoes. I am not a fan of kennel, but I am slowly learning about it and will eat meals and take short naps in there if the kennel is right next to my foster parents. When my foster mom is working at her desk, I will sleep next to her or chew on antlers to keep myself occupied. I am really quite low maintenance and just want to be next to my people. My foster mom thinks I will be a great agility dog, because I am food motivated, focused and listens well. I do OK on leash, I don’t chase squirrels nor bark at other dogs or people, I only pull to sniff here and there. Regular exercises and mental stimulation are a must, as this is true for all dogs, to keep me in shape and confident. Updates: Max gets nervous if he is left home alone. He will do best with a owner that understands his anxiety and willing to work with him. Someone who can be with him most of the day at least for the initial months, or someone who can take him to daycare regularly would be the best fit.  Max is a Husky/Shepherd mix, weighs 30 lbs (but still has a little more growing to do) and was born approximately 1/15/2020. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed & started on heartworm preventive. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, please complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
