Hey everyone! My name is Mordecai, but I like going by Morty. I lived the first five years of my life with a family in Oklahoma who didn’t treat me very well, and then when they moved they decided to leave me behind, which I don’t understand at all because I am just the best boy! I am what you might call a “gentle giant.” I don’t have any idea that I’m not a very small lap dog, and cuddling up with my humans on the couch is my favorite thing in the whole world. I’m usually very calm, but I have the wiggliest back end when I am excited, and I love to go on long walks to get all my energy out. I do like to follow my foster mom around too, just to make sure she knows I love her and am there if she needs me. Speaking of my foster home, I have been living with MANY kitties, and I have been so sweet and tolerant of them. If you have cats or other dogs, big or small, I will have absolutely no problem with them! I am also the best boy when it comes to taking care of business. I am crate trained and completely house broken. Within a couple of hours of being in my foster home, I knew to go stand by the door to signal when I wanted to go outside! I am so sweet and smart, (and I have the BEST ears! Who can resist my single flop ear?) and I have so much love to give. Please help me find my perfect family who will treat me right and love me forever!! Morty weighs 61 lbs and was born approximately 5-9-15. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
