Meet Oreo! This adorable dude will quickly melt your heart. He’s still a young pup but is doing great with house training and manners. He knows sit, lie-down, and come! He absolutely loves rope and squeaky toys, so make sure you have plenty at hand. He’s also kennel trained. When outside, Oreo’s the most curious of pooches, wanting to get himself involved with every passing person and dog. While he does pull on the leash, he is learning to remain close to his walker. He’s a pup, so he’s going to be interested in his surroundings. In addition, he loves to run so a fenced in yard would be awesome for this boy. With his energy and athletic physique, he’ll be an amazing partner for those who can keep up! Whether it’s by daily jogs or playtime in the yard, he’ll surely enjoy every second. Oreo is a little shy, especially with men. He will warm up once he knows you are safe and will be nice to him so would like a patient family to give him that time to adjust. When in contact with aggressive dogs, he pays no attention to their anger and instead wants to play. He'd really love to have a playful doggy friend in his new home! He’s afraid of sirens. With other objects that emit loud sounds, he simply avoids them and heads the opposite direction. He loves children, but due to his size and high bursts of energy, small kids are not the best idea. With older kids, he’ll surely lay by their side with a good toy in his mouth, demanding belly rubs every so often. He can be a stubborn boy which is why we think he is part Husky! When he doesn’t get his way, he just ignores you till you let him do what he wants. It’s quite hilarious, but with a bit of motivation and treats he’ll eventually listen. He’s a very good boy, just needs to continue with someone who can balance his head-strong and easy-going personalities. Oreo is a Labrador Retriever/Husky mix (our best guess of breeds), weighs 28 lbs (but growing!) and was born approximately 1-23-20. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed & started on heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $550 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. To meet one of our available pets, please complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/available-dogs/. Once you are approved, we will schedule an adoption appointment.
