Hi there! If fun and adventure are your cup of tea, then you have found the most perfect companion. I’m Ranger! Foster mom named me that because she is in the military and thought I deserved a good solid name to go with my curious and calm characteristics. I love to play, explore, and just be with my people. My foster mom has found that I try and be helpful in every aspect whether it’s making dinner or just washing the dishes. I’ll be by your side just in case you need assistance. I listen pretty well, especially when treats or squeaky toys are involved. I know the commands sit, shake, and drop if you want me to drop a toy while playing catch. I am completely potty trained inside, and even kennel trained. I don’t ENJOY going to my kennel but I will wait patiently for your return so we can play some more. I want a home where I will have a big yard or acreage to run freely on (the rescue people say a 6 ft fence is required to adopt me). Apartment living wouldn't suit me. I'm a big boy who needs exercise. I am truly a lucky boy and so thankful for Dolly’s and my foster family that picked me to be saved. I like my foster fur siblings, they are super playful but sometimes I really just want to play with my own toy and mind my own business. I need to be fed separately because I reeeeallly like my food and don't want anyone trying to steal any away. I like humans of all sizes, and I am not a jumper so I won’t knock over the little ones in the house. I can’t wait to meet my new family so we can play catch forever.

Ranger has EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) and has difficulty maintaining his weight or gaining much needed weight. He must remain on medication, supplements and a prescription diet to help him to digest the nutrients he needs. These will need continued by his adopter and he will need regular monitoring to ensure he is a healthy weight & getting the nutrition needed. More information at this link: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/exocrine-pancreatic-insufficiency-in-dogs

Ranger came from a crowded city shelter in Texas where he was in grave danger of being euthanized due to limited space at the shelter & his time was up. Dolly's Legacy came to his rescue and saved his life. Now he is ready for a new chapter with a forever home. Ranger is an Anatolian Shepherd who came into rescue very thin & is working on gaining much needed weight and will need to continue with extra feedings of top quality food in his new home. Ranger's estimated DOB is 7-25-18. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $400 (half has been sponsored, making it $2oo for adopter!) to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment.
