Sally is a sweet senior lady who is looking for a retirement home that offers car rides to the drive-thru for special treats! She would be perfect for a retired person or couple looking for a fur friend to spend their days with, whether gardening, going for leisurely walks, or running errands (here's where the drive-thru for a pup cup comes in!). Sally gets excited when she sees kids, but does try to "herd" them, and their energy would be too much for her on a constant basis. Sally loves to give kisses, but doesn't like to be kissed; she wants loving to be on her terms.

We received a request for help for an elderly couple who were both sadly diagnosed with dementia and placed in a nursing home, leaving behind their devoted companion of 13 years, a dog named Sally. She is a beautiful blue merle Dachshund mix who weighs 23 lbs. And as you can imagine, her heart is broken. Her whole world shattered when her mom & dad were taken away from her, and she was left without a home or family. We said yes, we would welcome her into
Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue. Sally made the long trip from Southern Missouri and was so exhausted from her travels, she fell sound asleep when she reached her foster home. Sally is looking for a safe place to land as she navigates her new life. She will be showered with nothing but love while with us and we are honored to be a part of her journey. We will do her parents proud.
Sally is a dapple Dachshund/Lancashire Heeler mix who was born 7-27-09 and weighs 23 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, started on flea/heartworm prevention, tested negative for heartworm disease and given heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $250 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
