Sugar Plum is, as her name suggests, a total sweetheart and darling dog! Other fitting names would be Snuggle Bug and Goofy Girl because she’s either curled up next to you or happily bouncing around with her tongue out and tail wagging. She had a home in Oklahoma where her litter of puppies was surrendered to Dolly’s last year. Her family kept her for a while after but now decided they couldn’t keep her anymore. But losing her family and the long car ride to Nebraska sure hasn’t gotten her down. She’s been happily enjoying every day since arriving. Everyone she meets can tell right away how beautiful, loving and spunky she is. Her 11 year old foster human sibling absolutely adores her and has titled Sugar Plum as their favorite foster ever. She’s playful and enjoys playing with two other dogs in her foster home. She’s had no issues with these dogs or dogs she’s encountered out of the home. She loves playing tug-of-war and with tennis balls. But there is nothing better than belly rubs so if she thinks she can get some, Sugar Plum immediately stops what she’s doing to roll over for belly rub nirvana. She is intelligent and eager to please which has made it easy to work with her on commands and manners. When she gets overly excited, she jumps and paws but is good at taking redirection. Sugar Plum was already potty trained and hasn’t had a single accident. She has no issues going into her kennel or separate room when her foster family leaves or at night. She’s whined a few times but always quiets down and sleeps through the night. Other than playing around with the other dogs, she doesn’t bark. She’s great on the leash and has had no issues with the foster cat. It’s going to be hard for her foster family to say goodbye to this sweetheart but it will be worth it for the family that means forever. Is that you? Sugar Plum is a lab mix who is about 2 years old and weighs 58 pounds. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
