SUNNY & CELESTE

Hi! My Name Is SUNNY & CELESTE

I'm Available

Left behind to fend for themselves in their previous home—matted, neglected, and heartbroken. Yet somehow… they are still the sweetest, most loving, most trusting little dogs you will ever meet.

That’s Sunny and Celeste—and they will absolutely wreck you in the best way.

Sunny is a Yorkie/Maltese mix—the soft, golden heart of this duo. She’s gentle, cuddly, and the definition of comfort.

Then there’s Celeste, a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix, she looks like a tiny gargoyle perched on a cathedral—gray, stoic, and quietly judging the room. She will stare at you like she’s seen centuries… and then climb directly into your lap and refuse to leave.

Together, they are a bonded pair—completely devoted, completely inseparable. Sit down, and they’re in your lap. Move to the couch, and they’re already there. One looks at you with soft warmth, the other with ancient intensity—and either way, you’re done for.

Fair warning: they take “co-pilot” very seriously. They will attempt to take the front seat with zero hesitation. Harnessed car seats are strongly recommended. They are not qualified drivers.

They are relearning house training after a period of neglect and are making great progress with consistency and patience. Grooming will require a gentle hand as their coats recover.

The Plot Twist:  Celeste has mobility issues in both back legs. She manages stairs sometimes, but other days she’ll need help—so a home with minimal stairs or a human willing to carry her (she is very portable) would be ideal. None of this slows her down in spirit. She can jump onto a couch or a bed like there's no reason she shouldn't be able to.  One look at her gait and you'll be puzzled how she's getting around at all. But her body has adapted to walking like a crab and she thinks nothing of it. And our vet has assured us that it isn't causing her discomfort. Xrays reveal luxating patellas gone untreated for so long that her body simply adjusted. Surgery at some point in the future may be needed, but for now she has no idea she's any different and happily frolics with her sister.

🏡 The Ideal Furever Home
Sunny and Celeste are a bonded pair and will only be adopted together — separating them is simply not on the table, and honestly, once you meet them, you won't want to. They do well with small dogs and have strong opinions about cats. As such, household cats need to be okay with being interrogated and chased like felons fleeing the scene of a crime. They are best suited for a calm, patient home with a gentle hand — someone committed to earning their trust, continuing their grooming journey, and never once making them wonder if they've been forgotten again. A home with minimal stairs would be a bonus for Celeste, or simply a family who doesn't mind scooping up their gargoyle and carrying her to her next perch. It's a small ask. She is very portable.

Bonus: Someone who doesn’t mind always having two small dogs in their lap—and wouldn’t have it any other way.
