TOMMY BOY

Dolly's Legacy was notified about a dog that was found hiding underneath a trailer with a badly injured eye. He was wearing a collar with a phone # on it, but the person said "it isn't my dog, but I want the collar back". It is our belief this poor dog was dumped because he is injured. We brought him into rescue and named him Tommy Boy. We were horrified at his condition. His eye was ruptured & he was in an unbearable amount of pain. He was taken into emergency surgery to have it removed. We cannot imagine how long he had suffered with this horrible injury. He scored a 3/9 for body condition he is so thin. Shame on his owner. No, we will not be returning the collar; it's been cut into pieces and thrown away. No part of Tommy Boy's past will be a part of his future. We have promised him never again will he suffer or be discarded like trash. His future will be that of love, compassion and healing from his physical and emotional wounds. Tommy boy is the sweetest dog. He loves food and treats! He gets along with dogs but is a little scared of cats. He is still getting used to trusting people and hates loud noises but he is learning to trust people daily. He is learning to go on walks with a leash and loves car rides. Tommy sleeps in a kennel all night and, although he still hides from new people, he is coming around daily. In no time and proper training he will make an amazing family dog. Tommy Boy is a male Yellow Lab, weighs 50 lbs (but needs to add more weight on) and was born approximately 4-15-17. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
