TUCKER

Tucker spent his entire life as a lonely, neglected dog, penned up in all seasons, no matter how cold or hot, with only a plastic dog house as 'shelter' from the elements. Making it worse, he was fed the worst kind of dog food on the market. His body was starving for nutrients. Concerned good samaritans were able to convince his owner that  this life wasn't acceptable for Tucker, especially as he entered advanced age. Tucker has arthritis in his hips and has trouble getting up, but LOVES to go for walks. He will walk until his hips nearly give out. He is so confused at this newfound freedom, being able to explore the world around him and smell all the smells, but he is adjusting well & learning how great life can be. Dolly's Legacy is honored to give this boy the help he so badly needed and find him the most amazing home he could ever hope for. We are requiring an experienced dog owner with verifiable top-notch veterinary care reference and prefer a quiet home where he can relax & retire. Lots of walks around the neighborhood are also a must. Tucker enjoys the company of dogs of all sizes and pays no attention to cats. Tucker is a male Chesapeake Bay retriever who weighs 95 lbs (he needs to be put on a nutritious weight loss program, regular walks will help!), and was born approximately 12-10-09. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease, and started on medication to help with his sore joints. Adoption fee is $300 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
