TWINKIE

Hi! My Name Is TWINKIE

We're happy to tell you that TWINKIE has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
I am a shy, sensitive, and loving girl who recently traveled from Oklahoma to Nebraska with my siblings, Ring Ding and Moon Pie. We spent a long time at the pound before we were saved by Dolly’s and it has been quite the journey for us! With my new lease on life, I am using the time in my foster home to get ready for my forever home. At first I was feeling pretty broken and lost, but a lot of love and gentle patience has helped me build confidence and become more comfortable in this new environment. Now I love toys, hanging out in the yard, and snuggling up close while being pet. I recently showed my foster family how clever and agile I am when I climbed from the floor to the couch, then to the top of the kennel to get to the toy basket! It made me feel good when everyone was laughing and saying ‘silly girl’ when they came to help me get down. I have come such a long way from needing to be carried everywhere to learning how to walk on a leash, and it’s only my first week here! While I love having a large foster family with two big dogs and two little puppies to play with, I think I would be happier having just one calm dog to be my friend. Right now I like to have a lot of attention and affection because it reassures me, and I am becoming more independent during my free time. I do exhibit herding behaviors at times, but it is easy to correct and redirect me. I am looking for a family that is able to lead me with gentle confidence and show me patience and understanding while I continue to navigate my new way of life. I promise your investment in me will pay off, and I will reward you with loyalty and snuggles! Here are some details for my forever family: I sleep in a 36” crate and wear a medium sized collar (14”-16.25” martingale). Twinkie is a Collie/Aussie mix, weighs 42 lbs and was born approximately 10/29/2019. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed & given a Proheart for 6 months of heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $500 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
