Hi! My name is Winston and I LOVE to smile. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I don't know how to stop smiling. Even when I was in that scary, crowded Texas shelter, I was always putting my best face forward in hopes someone would notice me. Boy, was I lucky when the people at Dolly's Legacy saw me and chose me to come to their rescue! That REALLY gave me a reason to smile! Some interesting facts about me....would you believe I was born with an all black coat? Yep, it's true. I used to be a black dog. Now I'm this combination of gold & white, which just makes me look like a white dog who got dipped into a pot of gold. I have a condition called vitiligo which causes my skin to lose it's pigment. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt and I don't even notice until I look in the mirror (gosh, I am handsome!).  Another thing about me, I love to run & play so I really want a big yard where I can be off leash and frolic to my heart's content. I spent way too long cooped up in a shelter so I'm all about relishing in the moment now with my newfound freedom. Sometimes I'm picky about which dogs I want to be my friends, and I most certainly don't want to make friends with any cats. They have scary claws, so I will take a hard pass on living with one of those creatures. I'm a BIG guy, packing a hefty 95 lbs, and I play hard, so little kids probably aren't the best idea even though I love them. I don't want to knock them down in my zest for fun & games. I was a long-termer at the shelter, but the staff loved me so much, they refused to send me to a rainbow bridge and instead kept me until rescue found me. I'm super happy about that, because I love every minute of being a rescue dog! Winston is a Lab/mix, weighs 95 lbs and was born approximately 10-28-14. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease. Adoption fee is $375 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
