ELSIE

Hi everyone, I'm Elsie! I am the cutest ball of energy you will ever meet! I get so excited to see my humans when they get home that my butt wiggles turn into whole body wiggles. I can sometimes be a little shy at first but I have never met a human I did not love and want to give them all the kisses! I love tiny humans but I would do best in a home if they were older than 6 as I am small but mighty at 37lbs and don't want to accidentally hurt them with my excitement. I'm still learning about other dogs, I didn't meet very many before coming to Dolly's Legacy. I don't mind having other dogs in the home at all as my foster family has plenty of other pup friends. I just haven't quite figured out how to play yet, but I'm a quick learner! Everyone can tell I'm a bulldog mix when they hear my snorts when I get excited and it never fails to make them smile and laugh! I do need an experienced dog owner who will understand how to help me reach my full potential and knows that my breed comes with extra health challenges with skin & allergies.  I have some skin allergies but I have come such a long way from where I was when I first came to the shelter in Texas almost bald and oh so itchy. My beautiful coat has grown back nicely and I'm feeling so much better! I just need my special prescription food and allergy medicine, and I'm good to go! I'm active and playful but I also like to lay down when it's time to relax with a bone to chew on. My biggest wish is to have a family to call my own in time for the holidays so I can share in the special time of year with special people. Elsie is an English Bulldog mix, weighs 37lbs and was born approximately 9-10-20. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventive, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventive. Elsie will need to remain on prescription food and allergy medication and regular monitoring; this will be a requirement for her adopter. Adoption fee is $550 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
