GIGI

Hi! My Name Is GIGI

We're happy to tell you that GIGI has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Gigi has a heartbreaking past. Her owner died of Covid-19, leaving Gigi homeless & without her master. She arrived to rescue covered in what is best described as an oily mold. The water from her first bath ran black. Her eyes were so inflamed they were nearly crusted shut. It has taken many baths over several weeks to get the grime off of her. She now has a beautiful coat growing back in with fresh, clean skin that has her feeling like a new dog. Gigi is waiting for the right human to give her unconditional trust and love in a forever home. She needs a bit of patience from whoever adopts her. Gigi will sit near you, lie near you, ask for pets, but will get nervous if it's not on her terms. She loves to sleep on her dog bed right next to the people bed. If you leave the kennel door open, she will go in for comfort, but cries if the door is closed. She deserves to be spoiled and loved, given every happiness and joy. Gigi is magical - when she gives affection, it's like a unicorn kiss. She's potty trained, loves cheese and is just overall the goodest girl. If you open up your home and heart this this precious girl, the magic of her love will be better than winning the lottery.

Due to years of chronic & severe ear infections resulting in rupture of her eardrum, Gigi required a TECA surgery that removed her left ear canal to give her relief from pain & suffering. She is now deaf in that ear but hears well from her right side. She also received an episcleral cyclosporine implants in her eyes to treat her chronic dry eye condition that had become painful & difficult to treat. This procedure will likely need repeated in the future to continue to give her relief from not having tear production to keep her eyes lubricated and healthy.

Gigi is a ShihTzu, weighs 10 lbs and was born approximately 6-28-13. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & started on preventative.
