Hi I'm Half Pint and this is my story. My human passed away recently. After years as her companion, my brothers and I found ourselves in a shelter. A wonderful human rescued us and got us to Dolly's Legacy. I have spent most of the last several years with a bedridden human, so I'm a snuggling professional. I also excel at kisses. I immediately crawled into my foster mom's lap and started kissing her. I love couch cuddles, bed cuddles, chair cuddles. I want to be where the human is. I'm learning to do my business outside. My foster is learning my "tell" (pacing). I'm also good in a kennel but can't be left out on free roam yet. I would really love a fenced yard, but even then I should never be left outside unattended because of my teeny tiny size. A hawk or fox could make a getaway with me in a split second. My foster mom calls me "Halfling" like Lord of the Rings, Halfy, Halferino, Halfsy, etc. I know "half" is my name and I love hearing it because it means pets or snuggles. I sleep with my foster mom and 6 other small dogs. My brother Tippy and I are here together. We'd like to find a forever home together, but we're ok if we have other wee dogs to keep us company. between the two of us, I'm more outgoing and confident. You will never forget meeting me, and you'll never want to let me go.
Half Pint is a Chihuahua, weighs 5 lbs and was born approximately 10-01-2011. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on preventative. Half Pint has a heart murmur that currently isn't showing any symptoms but it needs regularly monitored as he ages. He also had a dental procedure to get his teeth nice & clean. Adoption fee is $300 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs.
