Hi, I’m Mama Valley! I am a very smart, sweet girl that loves belly rubs, long walks, and squirrels. I’m a bit of a jumper and find it hard to control my herding instincts so I’d be best in a home with older kids. I like to play with my doggy foster sister but I want to be the boss…I can’t help it, it’s the Mama Bear in me! My foster mom says I do great in my kennel while she’s at work and overnight but I’m pretty sure she can trust me on my own. I’m trying really hard to learn instinct control and am very treat motivated. Sometimes I find it hard to control my excitement on walks when I see new friends (dogs, people, squirrels, leaves…yard flags) and tend to be pretty leash reactive. While I’m content lounging around, I prefer to be outside chasing squirrels in my yard or walking for miles and miles on my adorably short legs. I’d love to find an active home that will take me on all their adventures!
A shelter in Texas reached out to Dolly's Legacy about a mama dog who had been found wandering with her 10 puppies. The mom had watched as each of her puppies left for new homes from the shelter, but no one chose her. Her time was up and she was in critically urgent need of being rescued, or she wouldn't make it out of the shelter. We have a special place in our heart for mama dogs at Dolly's Legacy and couldn't bear the thought of not saving her. Mama Valley is an adorable low-rider, and is absolutely PERFECT in every way, and has a personality to match!
