SULLY

Hi! My Name Is SULLY

We're happy to tell you that SULLY has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

My name is Sully. When you first meet me, I'm probably going to be standoffish, I don't know you. It's not that I'm unfriendly, it's just obvious that some human has let me down. But once I trust you, I want to be everywhere you are. My foster mom lets me sit on her lap while she works and I'll sit there for hours. I'm going through what my foster mom calls "second puppy phase" where I'm very mouth (chewy), and just pushing boundaries like any teenager. I am very good on a leash and harness, and sometimes want to stay outside and play tag with my foster mom (she's always IT). I'd love a big fenced yard to romp in. I'm going through my teenage angst emo phase, but you can still earn my trust with treats and calmness. The household cat likes to play with me and I don't mind. He's a good cat, but I prefer dogs. I really would like to have at least one other dog-panion. I feel more confident with other dogs around. When I see all the dogs following the human into the house, I feel that is a trustworthy place to go. I'm kennel trained and it's not my favorite place, but I'll sleep there all night long after I sing you a lullabye. I give the sweetest kisses, and am very gentle once I get to the trust stage. Kids would make me too nervous, so I'm looking for an adult-only home. I really do love being a lap dog, but I do wish my foster mom were more active. I think I'd love to go running, or go for long marathon walks. I would be a great hiking companion, too. She's a good human, but she's not the best human for me. Are you?

Sully came from a rural shelter in Texas where he was in grave danger of being euthanized due to limited space at the shelter. Dolly's Legacy came to his rescue and saved his life. Now he is ready for a new chapter with a forever home.
